Frequently Asked Questions:

Q  How much does a custom paint job cost?

First, there are other questions that should take precedence over cost alone. There are many factors involved when selecting a shop to perform the type and quality of work an individual may have in mind.  Products, materials, labor and overhead all play a role in the way reputable shops operate.
Our base shop and labor rate is $45 per hour plus materials. This rate covers the labor, overhead, tools, equipment, and general supplies necessary (with a few exceptions) to produce a custom, one-of-a-kind, finish that will add quality and value to your vehicle.
Most motorcycle sheet metal sets average 25-35 hours from start to finish.  Baggers, and bikes with several parts average 40-60 hours. Material costs will vary depending on the color(s) and type of paint, number of coats, and the amount and type of preparation products used. Of course, every job is unique and some will require more work than others, that's why it's too difficult to pinpoint a solid price on any one project.  We will gladly give you a comprehensive estimate based on the description of your project and the paint job you're looking for.     All of our clients are provided with an itemized invoice detailing the time and amounts of products used on their project.   All repair work is billed at $70 per hour and typically includes materials.

How long will you have my bike or parts?

We operate on a first-come, first-served basis.  Our typical turnaround time is 4-6 weeks, and that will vary with the complexity of the project and the time of year.  To reduce down time we offer a couple options for our clients...

1) Pay a $500 (non-refundable) deposit to insure your next on the list and continue to ride your bike.  We'll call you with enough advance notice to disassemble your bike or bring it in when its your turn (all deposits and/or down payments are non-refundable and will be applied toward the balance owed).

2) Take advantage of our sheet metal exchange program.  We'll supply brand new parts for your bike (if available) and paint to spec and then trade for a core deposit on your OEM parts (Limitations Apply).

What kind of paint do you use?

Most all of our products are manufactured by PPG.  We also use many House of Kolor products for specific custom jobs.  All projects consist of multi-stage acrylic urethane (base coat, clear coat) finishes. If taken care of properly the finish has the ability to last a lifetime plus.

What kind of guarantee do you offer?

Since there's no way to gage the care and products used on our custom paint finishes, all metal parts carry a one year, material and craftsmanship warranty.  Due to the varying nature and overall durability... 30 days on plastic parts and 90 days on fiberglass parts.  The products we use are among the best in the industry and are guaranteed by the support of our supplier.  We cannot, however, warrant any damage incurred to the project parts by installation by others.

Do you do projects from out of town?

Yes, we'll ship to just about anywhere.  We recommend however, that all parts are professionally packaged and insured for their total value.  All shipping and insurance charges are the sole responsibility of the client.  If the packaging that the parts arrive in is inadequate by our standards or damage has occurred then there may be additional charges involved.

I think I know what I want, but I'm not an artist.  Can you show me some samples of what I'm looking for?

Yes, we have a large portfolio of various designs and trend setting ideas.  If you don't see something similar to what you're looking for in one of our photo galleries then you can surf the web and print or send us any reference material you may have in order to give your finish the ultimate in custom design.  We will also draw complimentary rough drafts of your ideas, or if you want a detailed rendering or a complete painted sample we charge $80 per hour for this additional service.

What are your hours and where are you located?

Our normal operating hours are:  9:00am to 6:00pm M-F.  You may call or set up an appointment outside of those hours or weekends if necessary.  We are committed to the personal service of our clients.  We are located in Parkville, MO and our shop is in a private location so as to maximize our efficiency on our clients' projects, however, we still maintain an open-door policy for our current clients and all inquiries are handled by appointment only.
